Sometimes you end up in the wrong place at exactly the right moment. Or vice versa. That is how life feels for Jasper – who happens to have autism, but that is not what this show is about.
Stoornis of my Life is a hilarious, moving, and surprisingly relatable musical comedy about what happens when your perfectly directed life suddenly runs out of a script. For Jasper (Alex Klaasen), life is one big musical: delightfully predictable, with fixed patterns and – most importantly – a guaranteed happy ending.
Until his mother (Sylvia Poorta) – the director of his life – suddenly passes away and his “successful” brother (Jim Bakkum/Soy Kroon) decides to completely rewrite the script. With the best intentions, of course, but without realizing that he is the one who actually stands out completely. Because who actually determines what is ‘normal’? In this whirlwind, disarming, and refreshingly honest musical comedy, Jasper must not only save himself but also free his brother from the limiting notion that you know what is best for someone else.
